Native Plants and Prairies Day

The White Rock Lake Amateur Radio Club, WA5WRL, has been requested to support the radio communications for the Native Plants and Prairies Day held at the Bath House Cultural Center.

HOURS OF SUPPORT:
  • 09:00 - 16:00, covered by split shifts where needed
NET OPERATIONS: All radio net operations will be by UHF simplex, 446.025 MHZ. Since all support will be within 1/2 mile of the Bath House, 3+ watt HTs are more than adequate for portable operations. An Event Operations Center (EOC) will be established in front of the Bath House building and will use a 10 watt radio.

RADIO POSITIONS:
  • Event Operations Center (EOC) Net Controller -- Two needed: 1 for 09:00 - 12:30, 1 for 12:30 - 16:00
  • Shadow Comms -- One needed for 09:00 - 13:30
  • Prairie Tour Comms -- Four needed: 10:30 - 14:30
  • Parking Coordination -- Four needed: must cover from 9:30 to 15:00

NOTE ON PROVIDED LUNCHES: As an enhancement over previous years, the event organizers will provide food coupons to all radio operators so they can order lunch from the Bear's Cafe Food Truck that will be on-site at the event. Look up their menu on line and you will see they are pretty good and come highly recommended.
